Step 1
Let's start out by creating a new file. I used a 600x140 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with a white color. Now create a new layer set and name it 'Text Effect'. Then select the Horizontal Type Tool and set the font family to Franklin Gothic Heavy, 20 pt, strong and #00E4FF color shade. In a new text layer type the name you want to add a text effect on.
Step 2
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Glow and Gradient Overlay blending options to your text layer.
Step 3
In a new text layer add your name in black color shade.
Step 4
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Inner Glow and Pattern Overlay blending options to your black text layer. Then set the layer's blending mode to Lighten.
Step 5
With all that blending options added to your black text layer from step four your name should have this effect:
Step 6
Duplicate your 'Text Effect' layer set then go to Layer > Merge layer set. You should now have a new layer with the text design, move this layer below the original layer set on the layers palette.
Step 7
Now go to Image > Adjustments > Invert. Then move the red text design down a little to make a 3D effect.
Step 8
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Pattern Overlay blending option to your red text design layer.
